Chrome/Chromium does not integrate well with KDE..... (what a shame)
If you want chrome/chromium as your default web browser:
Go to the "System Settings"
Go to "Default Applications"
On the left you will see list of types of applications. Pick "Web Browser"
Click the second option and in the command bar type "chromium-browser" (I think that is the command, you can click the "..." button and manually find it in /usr/bin or /opt ) For the Chrome browser the command is "google-chrome"

This will work most of the time. Many applications open firefox or konqueror despite this setting.

After you do that chrome/chromium will still complain that it is not default just click "don't ask again".

I have this on KDE4.5.3, so if you have different version of KDE it might be different...
