making Centos s primary domain controller
hi, im new to linux
i want a help how to make centos a PDC in a network. some ste-by-step instructions.i want to make CentOs A PDC in our network infra. today we have no PDC yet,but the computers are already in a network,12 of them run winxp. we have internet access,im planning to add 2 work station running fedora.
If i can get a step-by-step guide to networking in linux,we plan to migrate to linux including workstations.
thanks in advance.

Use Samba. I don't know if centOS includes the package but it is easily downloaded and installed if not.

There is a world of information our there about setting up Samba, just google it.

The instructions at are excellent but may be a little daunting if you are a Windoze guy. Things aren't quite as 'point and click' as you may be used to but then they aren't so bloated and crash prone.

Trust me, it is easy to set-up and is extremely reliable. Stick with it!
