Hi TB,
What exactly are you trying to compile? Have your run configure? If so, did it note any errors? Is there a makefile in the folder you're running make from? Any other relevant details? Does ctl-c or ctl-d get you back to a normal terminal?
cheers,
jdk

I'm trying to compile the acer hotkeys package: acerhk-0.5.35 (well was.. see post http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...system-734074/) and yes there is a make file but no configure file. The Install file just says to make then make install, which I did and I just get the freeze up no messages or anything...just nothing.

Is this a module that you're building for you kernel? If yes, will using m-a help at all?

I'm not sure if m-a exists for opensuse but you can check that. If it does, then you'll need to install it.
cheers,
jdk
