Major problems with hostname, virtual server etc

I'm almost tearing my hair out here trying to get this to work. I've tried everything I can think of, asked in various forums but nothing I do seems to work.

I have absolutely no problem running 4 websites via virtual servers on Apache on Windows. All I had to do was emter the aliases and IP address in httpd.conf, restart the server and that was it.

Now I can't even access any sites at all. They all throw back a 404. When I reboot, it says cannot resolve hostname etc for both addresses I've setup so far.

I have configured my network card to obtain an IP address automatically with DHCP.

Under DNS I have put localhost

Address =
Hostname = localhost
Aliases = localhost

I have bought 2 domains and have them pointing to my IP. Neither of them resolve though.

Even 4 I use from don't work now

Here are the contents of my Hosts file and Network file localhost.localdomain localhost localhost

I paid for the name

Can anyone please please help me here. I'm desperate to get these working. I've been serching on Google and forums for almost a full day and I'm now at my wits end.

I don't know whether the problem lies with my network card setup, the Hosts file or the Network file.

Many thanks to anyone who can help me.

Try this for /ect/hosts
Code: michael-denholm localhost  michael-denholm
For the other why not try your hostname (michael-denholm)
