main menu probles!
 
When pushing "log out" in the main menu, the whole menu freezes and nothing happends.. everything else works fine though, but the main menu.. what could be wrong?

What window manger?
Have you checked the logfiles ? /var/log/

ehmm.. I think I use the default window manager.. KDE or whatever it's called?! haven't made any known changes anyway!

What log file should I look for, and what text in this log file?

Do you have a FOOT as a main menu ? Something like GNOME ?

Okay have you ever started X as root to test whether the problem still exists ? I assume you don't run it as root huh?

Do the following: su - [type the passwd of root when asked]

The same as you start it as normal user. Type: startx
