mails out failed!!!!1


Dear forum members, am setting up a web based email system and have managd to configure squirrelmail as the MUA, apache is working properly, imap /pop3 are all doing well.
Sending and recieving messages locally and on the network is working fine for only people with the accounts created eg jude@myorg.com to someone@myorg.com.
The problem now is any of the above accounts to send mails like to someone@yahoo.com. It doesn't work at all!!! plz help me?
I get an errror like ---- the following address had permanent fatal errors-----
<someone@yahoo.com>
(reason:550 Host unknown)

help help!!!!!!!!

First of all what smtp mailer are you using?
Second: it sounds like your /etc/resolv.conf is misconfigured.
what happens when you do a nslookup on yahoo.com?

I dont have any smtp mailer!(clearly what do u mean by smtp mailer), coz am using sendmail. Is it different from that?

Second in the /etc/resolv.conf guess it's not misconfigured? coz when i issue the command i get:
nameserver "ip addresss of the mail server"

Third when i do nslookup yahoo i get:
server: "ipaddress of the mail server"
Address: "ipaddress of the mail server"#53

Below is a message that is displayed when i tried to send a mail to my account rwakajude01@yahoo.com

NB: Am using Redhat Linux 9.0 as the enviroment,squirrelmail,sendmail,php,apache,pop3/imap4.
Hope this information clarifies properly the problem.
