mail/web server conflict

ok if i have a webmail portal and an http server set up on the same machine under the same dynamic domain name, how do i keep them seperate? should i add another host with a subdomain like mail.mydomain.com? and if so how do i tell it to link to the webmail portal port instead of port 80, when i have a dynamic dns? or is all this even possible?

If your running both that natively want to use port 80, make it so your webmail runs on another port, say maybe 8080 and tell your Dynamic DNS service to have it forward the requests on that port, if they even do that, etc.

What kind of webmail portal are you using? Are you sure it's not just a VHOST of a apache install?

simple

I found a simple solution to this problem which was to use an URL redirect to the webmail server, using the correct port number in the shortcut. It cloaks that ugly looking arrangement however and everything comes out all neat and proper.
