There is no need for that, if you are happy with your other mail notifier, then use it. I am 100% sure that it is far better than mine!

HMW, i'm not sure how i missed all those posts!

btw, it seems there was a slight misunderstanding between systray/notification here.

Johnny_Metal, if you use bunsenlabs, you should be into tinkering, hence my suggestion: read the tint2.md, the newest versions of tint2 have an Exec plugin, where you can use your own scripts! writing your own mail notifier script could be fun (it probably just requires a command line mail checker, sure they exist).
actually, it's possible that bunsenlabs does not ship with a new enough version of tint2, but i'm sure the forums have instructions on how to get it.
