Mail and domain question
Hello everybody! My first question and is is a good one......
I am facing a merger between two organisations. They both have there own domain and own different mail-systems. My task to create a solution to form a new mail-domain while the old mail systems remain intact. Is there anyone who has any pointers for this direction? My idea was to let a Suse 10.2 Linux server do Sendmail (o.i.d) in which the email-addresses of both domains are known, and relay mail from there. I am no newbie into Linux, but are into a 'challenge'like this! Anybody has any pointers, be glad to receive....... Cheerz, Johan van der Ven |
Using postfix you can setup aliases so that when it receives email for john@abcinc.com it will be interpreted as john@newinc.com; and another alias for mary@xyzinc.com to receive emails which will go to mary@newinc.com. Yes that is very possible using aliases in postfix.

Re; mail and domains
Hello RamRam29, got any examples of that? and wouldn't you have to import the mail address of both domains somehow? Or are there 'live' LDAP couplings possible?
Still lots of questions........ :-| Johan |
