Question Mail and DNS

Suppose i have a mail server "" .
I need to give entry this Domain into my "DNS Forward Zone" Like followiong way :

@ IN SOA (
200211152 ; serial#
3600 ; refresh,
3600 ; expire, seconds
3600 ; retry, seconds
3600 ) ; minimum, seconds
NS www ; Inet Address of nameserver MX 10 mail; Primary MX

Now A client has offered me to make a different Domain Like "" and they need also a Mail server . i.e., Here i need to make Two server One is "DNS" and A Mail server .

In this moment i have two questions :

1) Is it necessary to make a different DNS server in different machine ? If it is not how can i make this Domain / DNS ?

2) Is it necessary to make a different Mail Server in different Machine ? If it is not how can do it ?

Plz provide some Information .. I am new to use Mail server .

You host online mail server or just test in local.
You not identify what mail server are you using.
