Mail
I need to setup a mail server such that email can be sent and retrieved from outside the domain where the server resides. What is the best mail server for this purpose?
I want to be able to prevent people not authorized from using the mail server to send mail as well. THanks, -KS |
The most popular (and very good) is postfix. I don't recommend sendmail (very big and had many security problems). Postfix comes with most distros.

OK just so I am sure....
Will Postfix: 1 - Act as a pop server repository for email retreival outside the domain of the Postfix server? 2 - Allow only authorized mail on the outbound side so that it does not become a spam source? 3 - Ensure the mail sent via it from the mail clients outside the domain, look like they were initiated by the Postfix domain? Thanks, -KS |
