macromedia flash for ubuntu 5.10 "breezy badger"
 
i have just installed ubuntu 5.10
and am having quite a bit of trouble on plaing flash files etc online
does anyone have any advice on what i could install as i have no idea what i am looking for and i cannot play music or music videos without macromedia flash

Assuming that you have x86 linux installed and firefox is your browser, the easiest fix is to go to a flash enabled site, click on where it says to "install plugin" and it should install for you.

If that does not work, you can get an x86 linux flash plugin from the macromedia website. There are instructions on how to install it on the website.

If you have ppc linux, you are out of luck (as far as I know), but the bright side is that you can surf without a lot of ads :)

Look at ubuntu guide. What architecture are you using...32-bit or 64-bit?
