Macromedia Flash
I downloaded Macromedia Flash for Linux. I extracted the files to a directory in my user dir ( /home/selos/downloaded/flash/install_flash_player_6_linux ). In the readme it says to change into this dir and run the flashplayer-installer.. well this works, he starts it.. but when he asks me to type in the directory of mozilla ( which is in /usr/lib/mozilla ) it says:
No valid install path: /home/selos/downloaded/flash/install_flash_player_6_linux/usr/lib/mozilla ! i tried to copy all the files to the /-Directory but even there it does not accept the path to mozilla :( |
You need to include the entire filename. Example, in Mandrake on my comp, it is /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3

I had a similar problem until I figured out I ran the damn this as my user and not ROOT. Silly newbie mistake from me! :(
|
yes but I was logged in as root and my mozilla dir only is named as mozilla :(
|
Why don't you try the RPM? It will allow you to browse to the mozilla folder. They have one for your distro.
Is the mozilla plugin folder IN the directory you are trying to install it to? Thats the only other thing I can think of. |
ahr andy NOT as root.. i read as root *g* I'll try this :)

Hi,
I have the same problem. Have you been able to install the Flash plugin? If so, how did you do that? Thanks. Jorge. |
