lyrics but no sound with pykaraoke
HI,
I am trying to use pykaraoke-0.4.1 program on Mepis 3.4-3. The sound card is working ok because I get other sounds on startup. When I use apt-get here's what I get: apt-get install python python-pygame libwxgtk-python python-numeric Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done python is already the newest version. python-pygame is already the newest version. Package libwxgtk-python is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source However the following packages replace it: python-wxgtk2.4 E: Package libwxgtk-python has no installation candidate So, when I run the program I get the proper screen displaying the lyrics as expected , but no sound. Soundblaster Audigy LS installed. Could somebody help with a command or suggestion to try to fix this issue for me. many thanks. Charles in Toronto, Karaoke addict needs fix. |

Have you installed python-wxgtk2.4 as apt-get suggests? It should not change things, but if the program needs it, it may be a good start. |
Hello Mara,
Thank you for the suggestion. I installed python-wxgtk2.4 using synaptic manager instead. 1. Here is another error when I try to run the install. python setup.py install running install error: invalid Python installation: unable to open /usr/lib/python2.3/config/Makefile (No such file or directory) 2. And further, I tried to run the program using as outlined in the readme.txt python pykaraoke.py Still lyrics appear without sound. The error in the shell is Didn't find expected MIDI Track But the program did indeed have a .kar playing with lyrics scrolling. Do you have another suggestion. Thank you. Charles |
