LVM on previously installed linux box

Hello friends,
I know every is genius on LQ board and need help from you.
how do I build LVM on previously installed linux box and keep my data safe.
i.e. I am installed my linux box using three partions
1) / 2) /boot/ 3) /usr and 4) /var

[root@appdev]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 3.0G 2.8G 13M 100% /
/dev/sda1 99M 16M 78M 18% /boot
tmpfs 4.0G 0 4.0G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda6 60G 2.2G 54G 4% /usr
/dev/sda3 2.0G 655M 1.2G 35% /var

I have 100GB disk free remaining on my disk & need to configure LVM
Please let me know, how to do this possible.
