I'm running Lubuntu 11.10 & when I go to login there are many desktop options, i prefer LXDE, but i have tried the other: GNOME-classic,2D,ect..KDE.
None open, except LXDE which is fine & GNOME, which is a blue screen.
What is going on & can & how do i get rid of some of these desktop options?
Otherwise my thinkpad runs great on lubuntu 11.10, I highly recommend it.
Thanks, jola66

to get rid of some of those options which are desktops, you need to uninstall those packages then they won't show up, and conversely if you install new desktop packages they will showup as options.

*blinks* So, most of the desktop enviroments you've got installed dont work at all, but your still recommending it?
Anyway, for how to remove those other desktops, its probably easiest and cleanest to follow the psychocats 'Getting Back to a Pure LXDE on Ubuntu' guide-
