Hi Lonnie, welcome to the forum :)

You will want the .deb package.

If you would, please open a terminal and run the following command...

Code:

wget -N -t 5 -T 10 https://github.com/UbuntuForums/wireless-info/raw/master/wireless-info && \
chmod +x wireless-info && \
./wireless-info

Then navigate to the location of the text file the script created and post the results (or a link to them) in your next reply. :)

If you are having problems with that release, it should not be unexpected as the system you are using is still in the test phase, that's what the 'beta' means so by downloading and installing it you have volunteered to test it for the developers. Problems like that are to be expected with a 'beta' release and the primary reason for an early release is so the developers can be informed and hopefully correct problems before the final release. So if you are unable to resolve it with help from members here, you might be better off waiting until the final release next month.

Technically you could get either. You can use alien to convert .RPM to .DEB.

$ sudo dpkg -i <package>.deb
(to install the package, might need to repeat after next for success)

$ sudo apt-get -f install
(to grab any deps not installed)

HTH

Thank you for posting the results. For the most part, everything to me looks fine. However, I would like clarification of the above. Please open a terminal and post the results of...

Looks like it can see some networks. :)

Can you explain more of how you're trying to log into your network? What are you seeing or not seeing? If you've tried to log in, what happened?

Yes, there's 2 'place concepts' for getting 'app' from: [distro] repo or [app] 'download'
