LOW Ram on Puppy
Hi,
I have installed Puppy 4.12 onto a 4GB usb drive. It boots OK, but it is not as fast as when I booted from a CD, can't use the CD because my Acer laptop no longer reads the drive. When Puppy is loaded I get an error message across the top of the screen saying WARNING:Personal storage file getting full, strongly recommend you resize it or delete files! together with that the laptop is showing the ram memory as 0M free. I would appreciate any help or suggestions! Thanks. |
There is a tool that can resize your pup_save file. I don't remember where it is offhand, because I'm not on Puppy at the moment. Look around and read the menus, there is an entry that says something like, "Resize Pup Save File" or something like that. I recently resized my pup_save file and it works just fine and now I have more room for my stuff.
If you need more help, there's always the puppy forums too: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/ |
Thank you my friend, that did the trick! I am really grateful to you for your excellent help and advise, you probably saved me hours of time and frustration, thanks again!
