Lost Window decorations in windowmaker
Windowmaker won't display the window decoration at the top of window, or any of the borders around it. I'm stuck with windows that can't be moved, resized, or max/minimised.

I'm not sure what's caused this. I think it might have been something to do with aptitude automatically updating/deleting packages, but really, no idea.

I haven't been able to find anything on google about this problem. Has anyone else had it? How do you fix it?

Try different key combination at the top of the window. Such as

ctrl + left mouse
alt + left mouse
and others

It will pop up a menu to change the settings and one will be to show the titlebar.

Also try Wprefs (Window Maker Preferences) there may be an option in there.

Let me know how it turns out. If you can't find it, I will switch to Window Maker and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for the reply...

I found that the decorations were still there when i logged in as root, so i just ended up replacing my ~/GNUStep dir with a copy of root's. Fixed the problem.

I've since uninstalled wmaker after discovering fluxbox. My desktop is light, very minimal, and superquick. Loving it :)

Question. why uninstall Window Maker. Do you not have enough room on your hard drive. I've just seen several posts by different people where when they switch window managers they uninstall one.

I have many window managers and sometimes like to switch.

Just curious.

To be honest, the main reason i uninstalled it was because i wasn't using it, and i didn't like having the GNUStep folder sitting in my home directory.

If wmaker hid their config folder like everyone else (ie .GNUStep) i'd probably have left it installed.

I'm getting pedantic here i guess. I've got plenty of space, but another reason for uninstalling it is that i'm trying to keep my install as clean and tight as i can, so i've only got stuff installed that i use.
