Lost My Audio

Somehow today I lost my audio... when I play a youtube video, for instance, there is no sound. My sound levels are up in both the video and a shown on my Volume control. When I open Sound Settings I no longer have the Device setting I had when I first installed Mint Cinnamon 18.3. There's a surround sound output window but no input window... in the Sound Effects window the slider is greyed out.
I am baffled.
Here's the part of the system readings that pertain to this.
Audio: Card Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] FCH Azalia Controller
driver: snd_hda_intel bus-ID: 00:14.2
Sound: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture v: k4.10.0-42-generic

Never mind folks... False alarm. All returned to normal after rebooting.

Mint has pulse audio. Is pavucontrol (the pulse audio mixer) installed? It provides more granular control than most default volume controls. You can find it the Mint repos.

Try installing that and checking its settings, they report back.

False alarm... sorry... once I rebooted all back to normal.
Thanks

Just for info, you can mark the whole thread solved through "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread.
