Lost icon for Trash

I put the Trash icon on the desktop...then decided I didn't want it there. I deleted it, but now it appears that it is deleted and no longer available...is there a command I could use on the Terminal to get it back? Thanks

Hi...

Welcome to the forum

What is the distribution and version of Linux you're using?

The way I've created trash cans in the past (using Lubuntu,) was to use the instructions on post #4 here. You should be able to use a text editor of your choice. However, this may or may not work for you.

Regards...

Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Comment=Contains removed files
EmptyIcon=trashcan_empty
Encoding=UTF-8
Icon=trashcan_full
Name=Trash
OnlyShowIn=KDE
Type=Link
URL=trash:/
Put that in ~/Desktop/trash.desktop

you might have to maually seek out your actual icon names where your sys keeps them if no icons show up. Check your DeskTop name/type
