Looks for information on the differences between RHEL 6.x and RHEL 7.x
I am currently getting into UNIX admin responsibility. One of the things on my plate as my first task to find out the differences between RHEL 6.x and 7.x.
Can someone help me direct me to a website that can give more info on this subject. Thanks |
First place to check would be the Release Notes. There are major changes, starting with systemd, GRUB 2, Gnome 3, ... . The list goes on and on.

For starters RHEL 7 uses a differnt kernel than RHEL 6:-
http://simplylinuxfaq.blogspot.com/p...l-7-and-6.html RHEL only supports 64-bit machines. https://linuxtiwary.wordpress.com/20...-and-rhel7-os/ https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-di...rprise-6-and-7 The change logs provide good information about each distro too. |

And of course, probably the most important is the implementation of systemd, which superseded upstart.
[edit:] only now did I see that it's already been mentioned. |
