looking forward to growing as a linux ubuntu user
 

recently got my linux ubuntu disc and installed it, loving it although i hate the driver issue, where i have to install drivers for audio and video e.t.c

If you came from the winsxp age then you would know that although wins xp had some default drivers there were some that were missing especially if you had a toshiba laptop & a dell reinstallation disk. Anyway some proprietary drivers are not included in the instalation disk in linux. You have to instałl them after the install. You may even be stuck without a GUI, but you will have the necessary tools to get an internet connection & download whatever you want or need.
When you buy a windows dvd you pay for support to accomplish getting your system up & running.
With most linux operating systems you can get the operating system for free, additional software & voluntary support, all for free. Not only that you get free lessons all the while.
I hope that you get everything out of linux that I have & enjoy the quest for knowledge.

You can use the System Settings to get additional drivers. If you are on 14.04, open the System Settings, click on Software and Upgrades and there will be a new window with an Additional Drivers tab. Click that, it takes a minute or two to run the check and then will indicate what options you have with one as recommended/tested.
