pop

i know redhat 9 has its default but i wanted something more powerful |
Qmail
http://qmail.hepcat.org/top.html Qpopper http://www.eudora.com/qpopper/index.html Note (http://www.sendmail.org/faq/section4.html#4.19): Subject: Q4.19 -- How do I configure sendmail for POP/IMAP/... ? Date: March 12, 2000 You don't. Sendmail is a mail transfer agent whose primary purpose is to send and receive e-mail (primarily via SMTP). Sendmail does not implement any remote access protocols such as POP or IMAP. But if you want to learn more about these and other (non-sendmail) e-mail related things, please refer to our Other (Non-Sendmail) E-Mail Related Links page. |
aot2002,
BAD BAD bad editing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :tisk:   |
Nice way to waste my time !!! >:(
|
actually i edited it because i didnt want to waste anyones time...i thought i found something on google
but i didnt im glad you posted the links..i wasnt trying to offend ! |
thanks for the qpopper link
hopefully you'll forgive the editing and i'll remember its a no no |
You can also tell Qpopper when it is running in an environment where some precautions are not required, resulting in extra performance (for example, if users do not access mail using shell accounts).
Are they referring to ssh logins ...so i dont need any additional user accounts |
Well, I am glad the links were usefull. :)
Regarding the edit 'no no..', is because even if you find your own solution, other people that reads this forums can find the information usefull, finding the solution to a similar problem, (just check on the 'reading' count of the thread) Next time I suggest to do the following: A) You can add at the bottom of your original post a block like "[edit] bla.. bla.. bla.." B) Reply to your post with a ... "I found my solution doing this.. and that..." or a "never mind.. I gave up" This way other people can benefit also from the thread ;) |
ok thanks
