Looking for instructions for Adept Package Manager

I'm running Kubuntu 7.04 and I can't seem to find any kind of instructions for it's Adept Package Manager. Would like to remove the tags box whatever that is and all those checked boxes for programs installed, not installed and so on. Does any know of a good site or ebook on Adept? Can't use Synaptic or Gnome-apt, it's too large a download on dialup. Thanks.

Just click the blue "V" to the left of the "Tags" box to make the boxes disappear.
I don't think anyone has written documentation for Adept, but I find it completely intuitive, and like it.

I've tried that already, they just reappear the next time I launch Adept. What are "tags" in the filter bar?

Tags are to help you search for useful software. Eg, in the Available Tags window, click the All tab, expand "Use", find Editing. Drag that [editing] Tag into the "Tags I want" box. Now the list of available software is restricted to those packages that are considered to be editors of some sort. If you now type binary in the search box, the list will be further filtered so it only lists binary editors - take your pick.
