Looking for Genious...who knows A-Z to install Guest OS on top of FC6(including XEN)
Is there any one who has performed Guest OS installation over Fedora Core 6 including XEN.
Guest OS like Windows xp, windows 2003, any linux version.
If there is someone, please could you provide me with the documentation to install guest OS.
Well i have tried a lot now and i am run out of ideas. I cant think any more, i solved dozen of errors but this error is annowing me toooo much.
After i start the installation of windows 2003 as a guest on top of xen using virtual machine manager through DVD. Installation starts and after setup completes virtual machine dissapear and if then i go to file and try to open that OS, i get error message "Error restoring domain /root/abc Is the domain already running?"
Now, i have forceably tried to open the Virtual machine using command xm create /etc/xen/<domain-name>. It starts the VM but blank screen appears in 4 sec time and it remain like that forever. So which results in shuttiong it down.

I have installed XEN along with installation of FC6, not after fc6 installation. I dont think that makes any difference as long as i get XEN working.

So please help me out if you have come accross this and have successfully installed different guest OS over FC6 (XEN).
i DONT CARE IF THE HOST SYSTEM IS OTHER THAN FC6. i prefered fc6 because it include XEN software as i dont have interent for that system so i cant really have XEN after installing host system.

Looking forward for some positive responce....

Thanks in advance

Ahhhh...just tried once again with SuSE installation over XEN and it worked. Though the error was same at the beginning after installation got completed the virtual machine got dissapeared and i was not able to open it using VMM. So i tried my luck once again by using command line to switch it ON n it showed me the same blank screen and i decided to give up and after relaxinf for 10-15 minutes what i see is the configuration setup page....and it finally got worked.....Now i would be trying windows xp and 2003 tommorow, i hope that works too. Any one faced the same problem ? Well but i still doubt that windows might not work...lets c any way

No guys, windows os isn't working on top of fully virtualized system. Like i mentioned above. after setup completes, when all files are transfered to the destination path, the guest os goes on reboot and never returns back.
Using command xm create /etc/xen/<domain name> starts the VM again but its a blank screen this time. Well and when i try to open the file where all the files are tansfered, i get message could not open. Its same with SuSE whereas its working fine now.
This time i am looking for some positive replies guys...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance

Until now, I think windows guest OS needs to be modified to run under Xen.
And that's not allowed; so I'm not sure what you are trying to do is impossible.
Any information/website of people that managed to do it? Officially?

Or do you have these new processors that have the VT extension for Hardware virtualization?

Core Duo, Core 2 Duo ,Turion x2

I guess you are right, thats what i got to know after lot of research and RedHat's documentation that it doesnt support windows at the moment and same with SuSE.Its release is due by the end of march .
But where i get confused is how come there are loads of documentation over the net to install windows over XEN...
I have started with a new post i.e. know how many are really having windows on top of XEN.
Lets see the responce....And yeh you mentioned about these processors, yeh i have intel VT PRO which is fully virtualized. i dont know about core duo and all.
Thanks for your reply
