In Debian I would just give it a try if it works. For other distributions you can try it with the alien-program. Or you compile from source and build a package from that.

Edit I did say "You can't get netflix on boxee. You need to buy a boxee box. One is software and one is hardware."

:) Ubuntu running Boxee looks promising. Let me know if it works for you.

I just found out also that to enable your netflix account you have to actually go to the boxee site and sign up or authorize boxee to log into your netflix account, I haven't done it yet because I can't remember my netflix password.

Netflix is pretty sure you guys will figure out a way to record shows if they allow it on linux without some other controls.

+1, i have an lg blu-ray player that runs busybox linux and has a netflix client.
