looking for an amalgam of Mandrake and Xandros
I expect to keep Mandrake, since it is so far the only distribution which both works without bugs *and* has my wireless equipment working; but I liked the interface in Xandros (also Xandros File Manager) a little better. (Mainly because it was more Windows-like than Mandrake; I know that must make me sound quite the jerk, but I used Windows for eleven years before this.) I won't go back to Xandros, because it offered bugs and crashes ad nauseum; so I would be interested in finding a happy medium. Is there a particular distribution that runs as smoothly as Mandrake (or better) but has an interface resembling Xandros?

Mandrake without bugs????
LOL What exactly do you mean by "interface"? If you mean the desktop environment or window manager, they can be installed on any distro. |
Yes, well, I have been using Mandrake only on and off for a couple of months. Nothing has crashed in it so far; in Xandros, I had repeated KWrite crashes, Konsole crashes. and a bug that caused vertical lines to fill the title bars of all my windows. I was hoping someone would know what I meant by interface, because I myself find it difficult to pin that down; but what Xandros has that I prefer are the Xandros File Manager (superior to Konqueror), and a much easier control panel interface for establishing shortcuts. I still haven't figured out how to assign any hotkeys in Mandrake.
