lokkit/iptables change

Looking to make a change in lokkit/iptables. Do I need to restart the --> service iptables restart?

How do i specify a range of ports to be opened using lokkit?

If so, would it affect our current website, ssl, etc?

No, you don't have to restart iptables.
I don't use lokkit, but --sport and --dport of iptables take range (portort)
