logrotate - invoked from where?

Hi folks,

Please could someone offer some guidance on understanding logrotate?

It's the first time I've really looked at this program.

Basically, from what I've read online, it needs to be invoked from crontab, but I have a CentOS5 system which is rotating logs all over the shop at 04:00... but issuing 'crontab -l' displays no references to logrotate.

I have looked at the running services, just in case it runs as such, but can't see anything there.

How do I get to the bottom of this please? Where is logrotate being invoked, executed or launched from?

Thank you! :)

Elliot

Have you got an /etc/cron.daily directory? the logrotate cron job is often in there.
