Logoff problem
Hi
New (relatively) to linux have installed and setup Mandrake 9.1. The problem is I've got it set to use the Mdk login manager when I try to logoff it display a "Logout/Cancel box" drops back to command line briefly and then logs straight back in! Then when I logoff from here it brings up the Mdk menu asking if I want to login as another user, Reboot, or Shutdown...basically what it should have offered in the 1st place. I can't see anywhere to change/check the config file and it's driving me crazy on what is otherwise a very good OS :(! Thanks for any help I've been looking for a week online but with not much joy! |
Whether using kdm or gdm, whether in
kde or gnome, go to your configureation application and find the login manager. Then, disable automatic logins. Cheers, Tink |
Thanks Tinkster,
I went into Control Center->Login Manager and unticked "Auto-login". Unfortunately, when I rebooted it logged straight back as usual! The only change is that when I click logout, it logs back in as normal ...then asks for password, which I think is not quite what I had in mind :)! Shouldn't it have done that on 1st login? Also, where are the script(s) kept so that I can manually change them (assuming of course I know what i'm doing :D )! |
Sorry mate, I don't know too much about
MDK... which login manager are you using? Cheers, Tink |
I'm using MDK manager, thanks for trying tho' :)

Just some feedback the problem (cross fingers) has disappeared :D! Thanks Tinkster apparently just needed to be rebooted a couple of times!
