Question Logitech C270 webcam video problems

I have installed "plug and play" webcam logitech c270.
Audio works fine.

I can see and hear when people call me
People can hear me, but not see me.
On the Skype/Options/Video the "test" button for video results in blank white screen.

Can you help me?

Not so much play...

You can first find out what you need and what you have.

Open a terminal and use the command "lsusb" to find the number sequence for the webcam. It will have two numbers divided by a ":". See if it is this one, "046d:0825".

My quick search tells me that there are various problems; some have sound, some a picture, but there are reports of success.

What linux distribution are you using? What does "dmesg" tell you?

More searching...

Logitech HD Webcam C270
Works with Skype After first installation, I had to log out and log in again.
It should work with the "uvc" driver.

What version of Skype are you using? Are you using a 32-bit or a 64-bit linux installation? Skype is 32-bit and the installation requires some tweaking.

Have you tried to install the Gnome "cheese" package to test for function outside of Skype?
