login timeout in linux

Hi all,

I have two weird questions.
Say when in text mode when a login prompt comes after giving username and password if I dont press enter then how long it will wait for my 'Enter' key. Locally it waits for 1 min but what about SSH?

and How many users can login in a linux system, is there any limitation or can we put any that only 5 session can be opened in this system by any user.

You can limit the number of ssh connections by adding the following to sshd_config. MaxStartups. The default value is 10. for more information I would look at the man sshd_config page. That gave me all kinds of extra options.
