Login problem Mandrake 10.0
 

Sorry guys, newbie needs help. I'm going to get it with both barrels for this but here goes. Installed Mandrake 10.0 on Celeron 333 with 128mb RAM 4.3gb HD. Researched Mandrake site and some FAQ's here and elsewhere. Also checked CPU,audio, video compatibility. Chose KDE desktop, no user names or passwords, but did enter name (but no password) for security. Setup went smoothly. Upon reboot, KDE login screen wants name and password. Entered the security name but have no password to enter. Only other choices are reboot and halt. Did I HAVE to enter "root user" name and password during setup? What gives?

Hi,

U must specify the root username and password for most Linux distros and madrake is no exception

Create one ASAP and u'll b up and running
