Login fails after installing Linux-PAM-1.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS Desktop edition
 
Hey guys,

I need your help.

Causing of Problem: " i am implementing radius protocol for my project. so for that i downloaded free-radius server. to communicate with this server i had downloaded radius_pam module. to configure this radius_pam module i downloaded Linux-PAM-1.0.1(to control all other pam modules) and installed. now after installing Linux-PAM-1.0.1 when i restarted my computer, Linux gui poped up (as usual-welcome window). now problem begins i tried my regular username, and fails authenticate. i tried everything but it is not allowing me to enter through GUI".

Please help me out guys. i tried this on this website's board but didnt find anything which can solve my problem.

Help me out as soon as possible. if possible then post step by step guide. because i am very new to linux.

Well, you could try and break into you system by using i live-CD. From there you can replace the installed package with an older one. Or maybe there is a ".rmpnew" copy of the replaced files?
