login failing - redhat 5.8

For one specific user the login authentication is failing.
Other user accounts are all fine

Even when i'm in as root and "su - user" (this is fine)
From host1 i do ssh user@host1 it fails with
Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-with-mic,password).

suffice to say remote login fails which is what I’m trying to fix

I know the passwd is correct, what is preventing me accessing the account
checked /etc/passwd & /etc/shadow all looks ok

You have a key mismatch. Are you trying to do passwordless SSH login? Did you create and copy your keys correctly?
