Logging into Mandrake
 

Hi,

Problem : Unable to get into the system

Login ID not recorded.

Found a password only

Is there a way in which I can stop logging in process and get into the system?

Something similar to "safe mode"

P.S I did get a suggestion to type in linux single but that did not work

Looks like I might be trypin it in at the wrong prompt.

I think mandy has the "recovery console" or something like that... use it.. su to root, then type passwd (username) and make a new password for the user..........

you might also be able to hit control-shift-backspace (or control-alt-backspace)

you use kdm or gdm?
