Logging in as Root

Since upgrading to Mandrake 9.1, I haven't figured out how to set the option that shows the ROOT as one of the possible users at start-up. All I can seem to log in as is my regular user name. For some reason, I thought this was done through the Mandrake Control Centre; however, I can't find it.

Tips....?

Which login manager are you using (xdm, gdm, kdm)? Is root just not listed and you can log in if you typed "root"?

  • Users tab
  • Uncheck the cross next to Root user, in "hidden users"
  • appy

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

aaa: Nope, couldn't do what you suggested; KDE didn't provide that option.

Skyline: Your suggestion was 100% right on.

Cheers all.
