Logging in as Root
Since upgrading to Mandrake 9.1, I haven't figured out how to set the option that shows the ROOT as one of the possible users at start-up. All I can seem to log in as is my regular user name. For some reason, I thought this was done through the Mandrake Control Centre; however, I can't find it.
Tips....? |
Which login manager are you using (xdm, gdm, kdm)? Is root just not listed and you can log in if you typed "root"?

Hi Davey
Log in and you'll see the option to be Root user for the session |
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
aaa: Nope, couldn't do what you suggested; KDE didn't provide that option. Skyline: Your suggestion was 100% right on. Cheers all. |
