I strongly disagree. Even the Kali developers specifically state on their website that it is not a general purpose, every day distro. Many things are done backwards, and many things are not included at all and/or are very difficult to get going, because Kali is not designed to do those things.

If you're not yet at the point of being able to mount a drive and view its contents, then Kali is not for you. If you aren't a professional penetration tester, then Kali is not for you. I've been using Linux daily for the last 15 years, and Kali is not for me either. If operating systems are vehicles, Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, Windows, OS/X, etc. are your Hondas, Mazdas, Chevys...while Kali is an airplane tug. Really good for one very specific purpose, and basically useless for everything else.

You would be much better off installing a different distro and learning on that instead.

Yep...the OP has been told that many times so far. But they also seem to ignore it, and keep going further down a rabbit-hole, and somehow now has a disk with 13 (!) partitions on it (see OP's other thread).

interestingly, this has never been a problem for me.
sometimes you just have to accept that some money is blown into the wind (literal translation)...
i like to look at the overall benefit, if i buy 10 items and one of them is good to be thrown away, it only adds 10% to the rest.
now if only one of these 10 items was free, all is good again... :D
ok, that's simplified.

that said, i recently lost a game of Catan because of this mentality - i was too willing with swapping resources, accepting a little loss along the way... :-(
