locked ramdisk


hi folks , total linux noob here hopefully somebody can help me with a problem
i wanted to try out linux mint on my apple imac and i seem to have ended up with this ramdisk or memdisk which is some sort of security version of linux

this damn thing has total root access and has setup all sorts of remote server connections and wont let me do a bloody thing , even format a usb stick

its corrupted my apple install and base efi and just got me on total lockdown

anybody know how to get rid of this ? please

Yeah , i tried that , and windows 7 , but its still writing this same crap into them os's aswell

What did you install? You say Linux Mint, but then you say some sort of security version... so what exactly did you install, where did you get it, and what kind of crap, exactly, is it putting into what OS.

Without knowing what you have and what it is doing there is little anyone can do to help.

well i downloaded linux mint 17.1 rebecca from the main site , but if i do a ... uname -a ... i get this

Linux mint 3.13.0-37-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 22 21:28:38 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

haha , like i said i am a total noob when it comes to linux , maybe everything is fine but

there seems to be some sort of network server on 127.0.0.1
fake root is installed and whatever i try to install or change gets instantly reconfigured with a defualt script
the hosts file is locked - permission denied even as root
/dev/sda: No medium found
