Is it just a Linux system or have you tried it with others. It sounds like when you reset your modem, the administrative access password was reset to its default. Try the default username/password.

consult your modem manual, for the factory default user/pass combination. If that won't work, then consult your ISP, on how to gain access, because some ISP's have custom firmware editions put inside the modem. (note: for a lease modem, you might not get that login from them).

If it is asking for the APN it is normally internet and password should work if left blank, note this applies in the case that it is your dialer software asking for a password.

My experience with Verizon suggests that you will have to call their customer service. Someone there can walk you through resetting the correct user name and password inside your modem.

Find the number for Verizon residential Internet service.

Tell them that you reset your modem and now you cannot connect to the Internet.

It would probably be better if you tell them that you are using Windows. If you tell them that you are using Linux they will say that they don't support Linux and stop helping you, even though this isn't a Linux issue.

BTW your post title suggests that you could not log on to Linux yet your details say that the problem is with your modem connection with Verizon. The poor choice of your title probably caused the other posters to think that this is a Linux issue, which it isn't. Accuracy in your post title will help people to understand your problem and avoid confusion.

BBTW resetting the modem to factory settings was a mistake.
