you are unable to login ?

If I am correct, either you are getting a
console (which is a black screen with a login prompt),
or a
GUI (Graphical User Interface) login window...

IN the former...
first type "root" (omit the quotes)
the when you get a password prompt.. type your passwd (its invisible) and then enter...

If you are unable to login then probably you are giving a wrong password...

The later GUI login is simple... you ought to be able to understand that
