localhost.localdomain

I have a query not sure how i got this to work last time. using webmin i navigated to the postfix configuration and then went into users mail boxes, then clicked to compose a message. the default it seems to set to is my username @localhost.localdomain
where has before it would default to username@mail.my-example.com
i tried the hostname=mail commaind but it dont seem to make a difference... i am sure i altered a sendmail or postfix file for this, and also i did something to make postfix the main MTA not sendmail, i cant remember what i did because allot of it was trail and error, ive remembered most but not some parts. if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it

thanks

steve

The file that Webmin edited was probably /etc/postfix/main.cf. You will have to be root to edit the file manually.

Do this: open a term window as user, and issue the command 'xhost +localhost' so that other users can have GUI with your user environment. Then su to root, and start you favorite text editor from the command line. Then open the file named above. Scroll down to the bottom to see/reset the destination, MTA, or whatever else needs reseting.
