Loading modules at boot

Hi,
I'm trying to load a few modules into my kernel at boot time (before the X server starts). I currently running fedora core 3. The file /etc/modules.conf didn't exist so I created it and added the modules I wanted to load but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

Paddy

fedora core 3 uses /etc/modprobe.conf

same structure, different file ;)

hope this helps
