I can't get it to work properly in nagios, it displays WARNING - sensors returned state 1

I have checked on the server that is being monitored and the service is smoothly running by this command.

ps -ef | grep sensors

btw i do not use nagios myself

2) otherwise make sure the target pc has had the relevant detectors set up correctly..eg has sensors-detect with root powers been done and the relevant changes to the init scripts?

thanks for the reply. in order for nagios to read data sensors for the remote host, i installed lm-sensorswhich basically gives output to the user screen. There's an nrpe plugin who handles the values and sends to the nagios server if ever it requests for something. I'm thinking that it outputs the wrong values.

hmmm not sure if you understood so forgive me for being more blunt.

its not enough to install lm-sensors....its just a package.

Its needs to get the correct information from the correct kernel modules or signals which is done only when the system has the correct modules loading etc and the various config files are tweaked relevant to the hardware.

2) What hardware are you trying to monitor please?

it's a dual-core processor. lm-sensors outputs the correct values however nrpe still recognize it as alarm and send it sends info over to the nagios server.

I have a single core amd64 but running a 32 bit system.

Have you checked folder /.gkrellm2/ for your users configs to see if alarm setting is enabled there?

or

/etc/sensors.conf?

i have checked on the corners of the sensors.conf file. but still to no avail.

Can you provide details to the alarm details then?

we may be able to work backwards using your /var/log/syslog or using 'find" or grep
