I cannot access my cdroms when performing Live Update with Mandrake 8. I put in the disks and the cdrom pops back out after the system tries to read it.
What is up with that?
Help me please! These are the same disks I installed the system with so they should work right.

first things first. Are you logged in as root? I have found that with mandrake (at least verions 7.x) when you log in as a normal user and try to do admin functions such as drakconf, it will ask you for the root password but still dosn't work right. I would say if your not already doing it, log in as root right off the bat and see what happens.

Yes, I have tried to do the update in root. Makes no difference.

i've found this also, but persistence will win as it will eject and ask for the same disk but if you put the disk back in it will read it after a few goes.
