live CDs (can you save stuff)
can you save inforamtion when you use a linux distribution that allows the use of a live CD (ie not installation). If so how does it save infromation?

I think some liveCD distros can be configured to save your profile on the harddrive. If you're talking about temporary files then usually they use a portion of your ram to use as ram drive.

I mean saving documents and configuration of the system. Also if you install something etc

Well as mentioned in the previous post they can be configured to save your profile on the harddisk/floppy.

by profile do you mean my /home directory.
And what will happen to software that is installed elsewhere on the system. |
