Live CD with hardware burn-in software?

I'm sure there is a an application that I can do burn-ins with new computers that I build. The only ones I know of are Windows based, and I just wanted to know if anyone had some good recommendations? That I can have my new systems run for testing and burning in the hardware. It would be really nice if it was a live-cd.

Thank you,
Kyle

Hi,

In your sig you have a link for 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links! I would look at the section 'Tools, Recovery, Diagnostic, Emergency'.

Wow onebuck you really have developed that thing a lot since the last time I looked at it (months ago). Thank you for pointing it out but I really dont know any software that I could test a system with linux. One that I used before it supports windows and Linux is PassMark BurnInTest http://www.passmark.com/products/bit.htm. I was wondering if there was an opensource GPL one that I could find on a live cd or put on a live slax CD.

Thanks,
Kyle

Hi,

'SystemRescueCd' comes to mind as one you could use to test/burn. 'Memtest86' can be used to test your memory. By changing memory timing and conditions you can find out how far you can push the system.

There are several hdd diagnostics that could be used. You could even use your hdd manufactures diagnostic set to test the hdd. If what you are looking for is a general burnin or test media then there are several commercial sets available for $$$.

If you do some 'google:linux' on over clocking you will find a lot of utilities for burn in. If your not OC then the utilities can still be used to test/benchmark. If it ain't broke don't fix it! :)

You can always just use the machines and see what happens. :)
