listening to music on the net

I have tried several times to listen to radio stations on the net while on this forum or just reading email or surfing but I am having trouble getting it to work. when I hit the tab for a particular station to listen online my distro suse 9.2 wants to use totem and I click ok but it does not work at all and I have tried to use real 10 but it will not load on my system although the application shows up in multimedia group. I am real new to this and would like some help please my sound does work I can play cd's

Just copy-paste the URL and in Totem paste it into File > Open URL I've listened to net radio in Totem before on Fedora and it worked great. now but I use Rhythmbox and it's the perfect music player for me I love it
