Is there anything specific you're looking for? I'm having to use this site on my phone (since my internet won't connect) and I can type it all out on here but it'll be kind of time consuming

No, mine has my dock icons centered in the bottom of my screen and my launcher menu takes up my entire computer screen

deepin 15.2 is based on debian and uses its own custom desktop. The EeePC 900 is a fairly low powered laptop and would expect a lightweight desktop. I can't recall the wireless adapter but it didn't require extra firmware etc if I remember correctly.

I agree if you can connect an open network then the wireless adapter should be configured correctly. I assume you are using wpa which is case sensitive. Make sure your entering the passphrase correctly.

We need details about the 'security mode' used by your 'access point'.
